India constitutes the largest part of the subcontinental land mass of South Asia, an area it shares with six other countries, including Nepal, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. It has highly variable land-forms that range from torrid plains, tropical islands, and a parched desert to the highest mountain range in the world.
India, sits on the southern subcontinent of Asia, and is bounded on the northwest by Pakistan; on the north by China, Tibet, Nepal and Bhutan; on the northeast by Bangladesh and Burma; and on the southwest and southeast by the Indian Ocean, with the island republics of Sri Lanka and the Maldives to the south.
Indian clothing is basically made up of the Dhoti a long wrapper for men, Kurta a long shirt for men and women, Salwar kameez, and Sari the wonderful dresses worn by women, Shewani a long coat buttoned to the neck for men and finally the Turban a headdress also worn by the men.
India is famous for its extensive variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines. The Indian foods are better known for their spices. They are also known for their flat bread (chapatti), rice and butter chicken to name a few.
India is filled with so many beautiful breathtaking places, and it’s overwhelming! From places like Taj Mahal, the Golden temple to the amazing beaches in Goa, Kerala backwaters, Lake Palace, the desert town of Jaisalmer and so many more!! The options are endless!
